From his very first day Ben Gayle showed he was a very capable police officer. He was often seen doing much of the legwork and never shied away from the action. Ben held strong allegiances to a small group of his peers including, Sally Armstrong, Will Fletcher and his sergeant, Callum Stone. When Callum Stone was suspended over an assault Ben became pretty vocal in protest to this decision. However, it was Ben’s decision to get his friend, Sally Armstrong, out of trouble that he will be most remembered. Putting his own career at risk, he covered for Sally after she got drunk and crashed her car on a night out. Sally’s drink driving escaped detection and she continued to work the streets of Canley mostly thanks to Ben’s quick thinking.
