PC Ken Melvin was unlike other officers at Sun Hill, he drove a nice car, came from a wealthy background and was a born again Christian. Whilst other officers brought dirty mags to keep them entertained on obbos Ken brought his bible. Although compared to other officers Ken was a pretty inexperienced and yet he was respected by other officers of the relief, especially Reg Hollis when he needed to borrow a few quid). Ken Melvin was killed by a car bomb which exploded as he drove the car back through the station car park.
